Podcast editing turns raw recordings into a finished episode: audio cleanup, multicam sync, colour, graphics, captions and short clips for social. Files are sent electronically, so it makes no difference where your show records.
A standard episode takes three to five business days from the moment complete files arrive. Recording is not offered as a package here unless the equipment and location genuinely suit it.
What is included
Everything that happens to an episode
Audio-only shows use the same process minus the picture work. Which of these apply to your show is agreed once, at the start, rather than negotiated every episode.
Full-episode editing
Dead air, long pauses, false starts, tangents and retakes removed. Filler words trimmed where it helps and left where removing them would make someone sound unnatural.
Audio cleanup
Noise reduction for hum and fans, de-essing, clicks and pops removed, each voice levelled separately so a quiet guest matches a loud host, then normalised to platform loudness targets.
Multicam synchronization
Every camera and audio track aligned to a common reference, with recorder drift corrected rather than left to slide out over a two hour conversation.
Colour correction
Cameras matched to each other, then graded for a consistent look across the whole series rather than episode by episode.
Titles and graphics
Lower thirds for names and titles, episode titles, and chapter markers where the platform supports them.
Intro and outro placement
Your existing intro and outro placed and levelled against the episode audio, so the join is not the loudest moment in the show.
Captions
Generated then corrected by hand, because names and jargon are exactly where automatic transcription fails. Delivered as a subtitle file and burned in on clips.
YouTube-ready delivery
Exported at the right resolution and bitrate for YouTube, with the audio master exported separately for the podcast platforms.
Vertical social clips
Reframed to 9:16 with captions burned in. Three per episode is a common starting point, set per show rather than fixed.
Show notes
A summary, the topics covered with timestamps, and the links mentioned in the episode.
Transcript cleanup
A machine transcript corrected by hand, which also gives you a page of text worth publishing alongside the episode.
Remote file transfer
Upload through any large file service you already use, or through a link sent to you. No studio visit and no shipping drives.
Recurring production support
Weekly and fortnightly shows book a recurring slot in advance, so the turnaround is the same every episode rather than depending on availability.

You upload the raw files
Separate audio tracks and each camera angle exactly as they came off the recorder, with a short note: guest name spelling, anything to cut, and the publish date.

Rosa Park Visuals edits the episode
Sync, audio cleanup, the conversation cut, multicam, colour, titles, intro and outro, captions and export. Three to five business days for a standard episode.

You review
A review link with the full episode. One consolidated set of notes comes back, and the changes are made in one pass.

How to record so the edit goes well

Separate tracks
Record each person on their own audio track. A single mixed track cannot be levelled per voice or repaired when one person is quiet.

Clap at the start
One clear transient at the top of the recording saves time whenever a file is corrupted or a recorder starts late.

Room tone
Thirty seconds of silence recorded in the room before you begin. It is used to fill gaps invisibly.

Mark the retakes
Say let me say that again out loud. It marks the point precisely and takes an editor seconds instead of minutes.

What determines the cost
Podcast editing is quoted per episode or as a recurring monthly arrangement, which works out lower per episode. These are the factors.
- Episode length, and how much of the raw recording usually gets cut.
- Audio only, or video with two or more camera angles.
- How many vertical clips you want per episode.
- Whether show notes and a cleaned transcript are included.
- Whether the show is one-off or on a recurring schedule with a booked slot.
Where this service is available
Podcast editing is a remote service. Files are sent electronically, so it makes no difference whether your show records in Toronto, Bancroft or anywhere else. Recording support, where it is offered, is limited to Cottage country.

How do I send you my files?
Upload them to any large file service you already use, or you will be sent a link to upload to. Send the separate audio tracks and each camera angle as they came off the recorder, without pre-editing them.
What is the turnaround on an episode?
Three to five business days for a standard episode once the files land. Ongoing shows on a weekly schedule are booked in advance so the slot is always there.
Do you record podcasts as well as edit them?
Editing is the service offered here. Recording is quoted separately and only where the equipment and location genuinely suit it, rather than promised as a package.
Do you write show notes?
Yes. Show notes, chapter timestamps and a cleaned-up transcript can be included with each episode. The transcript is machine generated and then corrected by hand, because names and jargon are where automatic transcription fails.
How many social clips come with an episode?
Clip counts are set per show rather than fixed, because a two hour interview yields more usable moments than a twenty minute solo episode. Three vertical clips per episode is a common starting point.
