That means the practical things a guest checks before booking, and the dream of how the weekend will feel once they are there. Every set gets that much thought, so your listing earns bookings and your guests arrive happy.
The cover image
Horizontal, shot in good light, with the water and the building in one frame. It is the only photograph most people will ever see.
Every sleeping space
Each bedroom plus the loft, the pull-out and the bunkie. Anything counted in the guest number gets photographed.
Bathrooms and kitchen
Including the outdoor shower and the outhouse if there is one. Hiding those produces bad reviews rather than more bookings.
Water and outdoors
Dock, shoreline, water entry, fire pit at dusk, deck, hot tub and sauna. The water entry is photographed honestly, because it filters out the wrong bookings.
Every claimed amenity
The barbecue, the kayaks, the laundry, the parking, the workspace. A listing where every claim is visible converts better than one with more pictures of the same room.
Seasonal sets
Most cottage listings only have summer photographs, which leaves the rest of the year unsold. Autumn colour and a lit wood stove sell winter bookings a July gallery never will.

Serenity Now Cabin
Serenity Now Cabin is mine. It is a waterfront cabin on a private lake in 65 acres of forest near Bancroft, and I run it as a short-term rental. The photograph below is from its own listing.
It is why the rental advice here is specific. Hosting teaches you which photographs get questions, which get bookings, and what an off-season gallery is worth when February is quiet.

What do the rental packages cost?
Rental packages are priced by the size of the place: The Cozy Stay at $225 + HST, The Complete Stay at $375 + HST, The Signature Stay at from $575 + HST. The shot list changes too. A rental set covers every sleeping space, every bathroom and an image for every amenity you have claimed, plus the lifestyle detail frames that stop a booking listing reading like an inventory. Files are delivered horizontal for Airbnb and Vrbo and vertical for social and a direct booking site.
How many photographs does a rental listing need?
More than a sale listing, because guests use the gallery to verify the description rather than to decide whether to view. Plan for every room, every sleeping space, the water frontage and one image per claimed amenity. The Complete Stay, at 30 to 40 photographs, is the usual starting point for a cottage.

Should a rental be photographed in more than one season?
If it rents in more than one season, yes. Most cottage listings only have summer photographs, which leaves autumn and winter bookings unsold. A second short session in a different season is normally the cheapest way to lift off-season occupancy.
